I played a game of 7 Wonders.

fast variant, 20 Planets, 3 full mission cards and 3 extra missions, so 20+36+9=65 points. Probably had some misplayes due to it being my first play. Gives a nice “patience in space” feel, so missing a bit of the “bite” I prefer in my…
Another game on my “Up to now unplayed” list down. Space Pioneers is an interesting card laying game that normally is played competitive, but has a solo variant, too. Which is mostly a beat-your-own-highscore variant. Not what I really like in solo games, but in this one it gives a relaxing patience game, so might hit the table from time to time. I mostly backed it on KS, because the designer lives in my hometown and visits our regular game
Heute das erste Mal Space Pioneer gespielt, nette SciFi-Patiebce in der Solo-Variante. Kompetetiv vermutlich interessanter, braucht aber mächtig viel Tisch schon für nur einen Spieler. Vital usually doesn’t create solo AIs or even automa but “fake” opponents that put pressure time-wise on you. In The Gallerist, the opponent in the solo game just gobbles up stuff in a way that puts pressure on you to “gobble up faste…

Mound Builders ist ein spannendes Spiel aus der Stadt of Siege Reihe mit interessanten historischen Hintergrund. Vermutlich habe ich einiges falsch gespielt, denn ich hab beinahe gewonnen. Egal, war spannend Shared on Google+ by Georg Bauer: Moin Builders from VPG found its Way to the Table today. Fun Game, I allmost won. The First […]

Moin Builders from VPG found its Way to the Table today. Fun Game, I allmost won. The First Pic is my loss – defending the palisades risks a breach and if there are multiple attack, that is a bad idea. Better run down the palisades, if they are high enough. So I tried that on […]
/u/bboomslang on Games like Twilight Struggle and Wir sind Das volk?
The COIN series might do it, or maybe Polis: Fight for the Hegemony if you are into ancients. And of course the TS follow-ups like 1989 or the upcoming Imperial Struggle. Maybe some of the more classic CDGs like Washington’s War or the newly reprinted and extended Labyrinth: War on Terror if you want something present day themed.

/u/bboomslang on GMT November 18 Update (P500 & More)
Comancheria shocked me a bit, I didn’t expect it to ship this year. Hopefully it will only be in the November import at UGG, otherwise it might fall right into my vacation.

Yeah, that was scary. I think they put some hypnospray or something on that games description. Or it was just the name of the designer and space theme that did it for me …

Butterfield and Space? I am in! Even though the 1-4 players makes me curious, his “usual” faire is solo games, will be interesting when we get more details about this one.

/u/bboomslang on [WSIG] Any co-operative micro games out there?
Side Quest and Shadow of the Elder Gods might qualify. Not really microgames, but neither is Tiny Epic Defenders. But really quite small.

/u/bboomslang on From a solo point of view: Imperial Settlers or 51st state?
IS gives you mire varyity in playing due to the different culture decks, whereas 51st state only gives slight asymmetric tribes but kinda only uses a common deck. But the benefit of 51st state is a much mire streamlined play – you get to play faster an…
