Oh yeah, I love those „you always win out of nowhere, I don‘t like combo“ after I had three activations of Rune-Scarred Demon … that‘s not my definition of out of nowhere 😉

/u/bboomslang on Obscenely Fun Commanders?
Yeah, Grenzo is tons of fun. I have a cEDH doomsday Grenzo deck that is totally glad cannon, and the slot machine build from the primer for casual. I run a little transformational sideboard to reduce combos when people get salty when they lose to metal…
/u/bboomslang on Trading Post : The Best Engine Not in Your Toolbox!
[[Springjack Pasture]] and it also kinda makes Mana!
/u/bboomslang on Give me the reason behind choosing your main EDH deck
I built a Slobad artifact list, but when playing at the game store they suggested to start with a precon and build from there. Back then Mimeoplasm was one of the precons and I liked the colours and the ability of Mim. Over time I optimized it, but Mim is just too fragile and too easy to stop. So fast forward to Dominaria and Muldrotha. That really caught my eye, as I envisioned to build a more controlly deck based on permanents only around her ability to grab stuff for a second or third go from the GY. It now is a controlly build not unlike moderns blue moon – just based on permanents (even the stack interaction) only. Wincon being Palinchron and Vorinclex with Jarad and repeated casting and sacing of Muldrotha or a giant Consuming Aberration or just plain old Aberration mill. Quite fun to play and it really became one of my favourites.
My artifact deck over time turned now into a cEDH viable Jhoira Stax/Storm build that I totally love. Just don’t get to play that often. But that one and Muldrotha are the ones I even went out to get Dual Lands for.
I do play some other stuff like a Brudiclad token deck or a Grenzo bottom matters deck and a Locust God spell slinger deck, but Muldrotha is the most solid one (aside from my cEDH decks, of course).
/u/bboomslang on Artifact win condition for a memnarch deck
Blightsteel Colossus. Keep him in hand until you control the stolen board, then punch in three times.
/u/bboomslang on Mimeoplasm to Tasigur?
Actually I don’t anymore – it turned into Brudiclad due to more consistent pressure. Saheeli was great, but at tables with lots of early board presence, she felt a bit subpar. Still want to come back to it, though, because in general it felt great, just too slow. It may get a new chance with Urza in the 99, though, because him and KCI can give me alternative big mana bases. It really was fun to dump big spells 3-4 turns faster than the green decks, though 🙂
/u/bboomslang on Mimeoplasm to Tasigur?
I turned my Mimeoplasm into Muldrotha, too – instead of reanimator shenanigans, now the GY is just there for value and to protect me from blowouts. I tuned it a bit like a classic blue moon shell – just with permanents instead of spells. And instead of…
/u/bboomslang on Are there any colour combinations that you just keep coming back to?
Izzet. It’s just so totally me, doing wacky stuff that can totally blow up when tried. It is a love-hate relationship, as many ways of the izzet are far too unreliable, but I always come back to it anyway.
/u/bboomslang on So… What’s everyone going to replace Paradox Engine with?
Well, the new forge whiffs hard on non-artifacts, so I guess I would probably still go for Future Sight there over the forge. But it is an interesting option for sure.
/u/bboomslang on So… What’s everyone going to replace Paradox Engine with?
In my Locust God deck, PE actually was a fair card – it was not dedicated to super fast Ramp, so it usually did not go infinite, just allowed to chain a bunch of Draw Spells. Well, I guess now I use Mind over Matter, which just happens to do that job m…
/u/bboomslang on Save your money (Dont buy from this store)
If it was through the amazon marketplace, the right way to go is through amazon. They don‘t like that kind of stuff from their stores.
/u/bboomslang on The Three Cards That Should be Banned in Modern (Brian DeMars)
I like both Faithless Looting and Ancient Stirrings, but I just can’t fathom why Red and Green of all colors are supposed to have the best cantrips when blue has to get by with Opt or Serum Visions. So yeah, if we don’t want to see Ponder and Preordain in Modern, lets get rid of Looting and Stirrings, too.
/u/bboomslang on Pauper is now an official, sanctioned format!!
Actually Merchant Scroll will be interesting to see, as will be Mystic Remora – we already play Mystical Teachings, so another tutor can see play. And the fish is just fantastic T1 for blue decks that want to go long. But the best probably will be Desert, because it has chances to hose a lot of decks, especially blue one-drops. Sadly that’s what I love to play, so I guess there is some pain in my future 😉
/u/bboomslang on Pauper is now an official, sanctioned format!!
Yeah, I guess sideboards now go to 6 red blasts and 5 blue blasts and maybe 3 land destructions 😉
/u/bboomslang on Pauper is now an official, sanctioned format!!
Awww, they banned Hymn to Tourach right away. Bummer.
/u/bboomslang on Golos, Tireless Pilgrim – A Matter of Lands
I don’t care for Golos, but where is that sweet sounding Maze’s End / Niv-Mizzet, Reborn list? 🙂
/u/bboomslang on [M20] Bag of Holding
Might find a place in [[Neheb, Dreadhorde Champion]]? I mean, it prevents Notion Thief blowouts from your wheeling, and it gives you the option to more agressively wheel, because you get the mana to get the cards back. Neheb is a bit fringe, but this m…
/u/bboomslang on New tech for UPS – replaces Future Sight?
Aargh, yeah, totally forgot that. Damn cards, why do I have to read them! 😉
/u/bboomslang on New tech for UPS – replaces Future Sight?
I see your point of whiffing outside of combo, where FS does more, by also playing non-artifacts. But the forge allows to keep instants you know about on top and playing them through Urza, so I think it is still very useful with him out. Lesser so with…
/u/bboomslang on New tech for UPS – replaces Future Sight?
Yeah, I think my Jhoira will like it a lot, it will help with storming off quite a bit and super easy to Cast.
/u/bboomslang on New tech for UPS – replaces Future Sight?
So this, SDT and a cost reducer is Draw your deck. And much easier to pay for than FS would be, and even one Mana cheaper. Goes straight into UPS, I guess, since it helps with going off with Urza, has its own combo and gives away less info to opponents…

/u/bboomslang on [M20] Mystic Forge
Goes infinite with Sensei‘s Divining Top and a cost reducer, can skip at least one card from the top if it is not needed, with Paradox engine out gets untapped and so can skip more stuff and is not obvious to opponents like Future Sight and costs one l…
/u/bboomslang on Omnath, Locus of the Roil | Coralhelm Combo
You can Imperial Recruiter for Drift of Phantasm, then transmute for Retreat. Yeah, not the fastest, feels kinda janky, but hey, it’s an additional tutor line. But probably better to just use partner commanders and go for black to tutor for combo pieces, everything else will always be second class to that.
/u/bboomslang on Sultai Wilderness Teachings: real deal or meh?
If you have just one teachings, you teaching for teachings. It’s what we do in Pauper for quite a while already in UB Teachings and many Tron variants. If your deck can produce the necessary mana, Teachings is awesome.
/u/bboomslang on [M20] Ancestral Blade (re-upload with better image)
well, I am not playing limited or standard, so that probably influences my look on the card.
/u/bboomslang on [M20] Ancestral Blade (re-upload with better image)
Interesting variant of "Living Weapon", but kinda underpowered. It could at least give some keyword in addition to the +1/+1. At the power level it is at, I would have seen this as a common.
/u/bboomslang on BUDGET Breach.
Well, what you came up with is mostly a less streamlined Boaryo’s Vengence deck 🙂 – https://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/modern-boaryo-s-vengence#paper
